My Y-DNA matches a Frank E. McDonald who has a 43 generation family tree. Frank came off Bryan McDonald/MacDonnell born 1645 Ireland died 1707 New Castle County Pa. (today Delaware).Bryan arrived in Pennsylvania in 1689.
My Y-DNA also matches a Joel McDanal from Leeds, Alabama 110 of 111 markers. Familytree.com says at the most distance we are 5th cousins. Joel and Frank E. McDonald Y-DNA match 109 of 111 markers and are at the most distance 7th cousins.
I can track Joel back in the Federal Census to John Rufus McDonald/McDaniel/McDanal 1821-1879. They say John Rufus was the son of Jeremiah McDonald/McDaniel/McDanal and Jeremiah was the son of John McDonald/McDaniel/McDanal 1758 Va. -1850 Jefferson County, Alabama.
