hi, i have a b.v.alexander son of austin and mary alexander who ran a horse gin in brashiers chapel in 1887.the article also states they came to alabama before the civil war..the tidmore i have is john thomas tidmore married leaanne alexander , they lived in arab, and had 13 children. i would think some of them are still around there...johns father was james f tidmore and mother is octavia elizabeth dyer..john thomas was born somewhere in 1881, all of them list a sand mountain asa place of birth and where the family lived..i also have heard of red mountain. i am also looking for a james whitworth, and james thomas cowen or cowan. they were my grandmother martha pearl alexanders first two husbands, and the cowen i know was married before.some of them are said to be buried at brashiers chapel cemetary and diamond?? i dont know the area very well being there only once.. my grandnother is said to be half indian, and looked it. what tribes lived in the area of sand mountain and guntersville, and arab...thanks d drum
