William Andrew Ward of Georgia>Alabama>Texas
I am researching my great grandfather, William Andrew Ward, born Oct 8, 1884.Not much is known about him or his family prior to 1906.I recently found out that he married my great grandmother Lillie Bell Walker on November 4, 1906 in Carroll County, Georgia.Their first child, daughter Floy, was born in Alabama, April 1908.According to the 1910 census, William and Lillie had moved to Bell County, Texas.
Lillie Bell came from a family of Walkers, Lowes, Cospers and several other family lines known in the Cleburne and Randolph Counties of Alabama and Carroll County of Georgia (and possibly the old Campbell County, Georgia area that became Carroll County).I suspect these families may have known/associated with the Ward family line of my great grandfather's but have no substantial proof to date.
Family knowledge passed on to me is that William was from Macon, Georgia (which I have yet to confirm and believe this may have just been the 'region' of Georgia he claimed to be from) and had at least two brothers, one named Word or Work Ward and another named Jim Ward. One or both is said to have owned a Cadillac dealership in Mobile, AL.William was a farmer and remained in Rogers, Bell County, Texas the rest of his life.
If you have a family member connected to a William Andrew Ward (or derivation of his given hame) that you feel matches up with the additonal information I have supplied, please contact me at your earliest opportunity.
Thank you,
Bonnie
