My historical novel, PATRIOTS AND REBELS, has just been published.It is built around the actual Civil War experiences of my wife's gg grandfather, Thomas Benton Files of Walker County, as documented in the National Archives. He served in the First Alabama Cavalry, United States Volunteers.
