Black, Joseph wife Mary "Polly" White - Washington Court or Koenton Al
I am interested in the family of Joseph Black and Mary "Polly" White. Any information is most welcome. In particular information on their son Joseph who according to a family genealogy done by Samuel Black McCormick;
"Died in the War of the Rebellion. Joseph Black was a member of the Southern army, in the Trans-Mississippi Department, and no definite information was ever received as to the date of his death."
I would love to know how and where Joseph died during the Civil War. I do not know what unit he fought for, however, I would believe it would have been a unit from Alabama.
Also according to Samuel Black McCormick refering to Joseph Black;
He moved from Pennsylvania to Washington Court house, now Koenton, Alabama. He married Mary White, who was born in South Carolina. Joseph Black was at one time mayor of Mobile, Alabama."
Thank you very much for any and all help!
