Hi Susan,
I am the gggrandaughter of Henry D. Conklin by his first wife, Charlotte Loos Conklin. Henry left Charlotte in 1880/81, made his way to Arkansas and married Sarah Hooten who was the sister (half sister?)of your Robert Lee. Henry never divorced Charlotte and may have had two other families between leaving Charlotte and marrying Sarah. Henry and Sarah had a son named Martin Conklin who was living in the same household with Martin Hooten, Martha Barnes Hooten and Robert Lee. I know that Martin Conklin married Belle Johnson and they had a son, Fred R. We have no idea what happened to any of them after 1920. Did they stay in Arkansas or move to another state? Where are they buried? Are there any death records for Henry David Conklin and where is Sarah buried? I know that Sarah married Noah Sullivan in 1896 about the same time that she applied for Henry David's Civil War pension. She was denied because Henry had not divorced Charlotte. I'd also like to know why Martin Conklin didn't move on with his mother and stepfather if there is any info about that. WHEW! Did you get all that? If you have any info about the Hooten line and the Conklin line I would so greatly appreciate getting it.
GOD bless,
Ginny
