Hi Bob;
"Thanks" for the response.First, I could not read you email address clearly or I would have responded directly.
I started this trying to locate the "Nancy" who married William R. Baker around 1866 in or near Searcy County.They are listed in the 1870 census as follows:
46, Big Flat, Jul 16, 1870, pg. 6,
William R. Baker, 49 wm, Ga farmer
Nancy* J. Baker, 35 wf, Ky
Louisa Baker, 18 wf, Ar
John H. Baker, 15, wm, "
William A. Baker, 13 wm, "
Manda Baker, 11 wf,"
Martha Baker,9 wf,"
Albert Baker, 7 wm,"
Sarah E. Baker, 3 wf, "
Millie H. Baker, 1 wf, "
Comment:William R. Baker first wife was Elizabeth Coulley, and she was the mother of the first six children listed above. She died abt. 1863 and William married Nancy J. ??, and she is mother of the last two children listed above.
Who is this Nancy?According to this census she was born abt. 1835 in Ky.I searched the 1860 Searcy Co., census for a "Nancy" and there were many.However, there was only one who was born abt. 1835 in Ky. and that was Nancy Heflin.
But, you pointed out this census was probably in error, and it appears to be so.
Bob, if you have any comments email directly.My email address is:[email protected]
Thanks, Errol Lewis
