Vandegrift" My Vandegrift, John, came from Illinois to California in the 1850's and was married to Mary "Jane" Mitchell. They had 10 children 9 girls & only one boy-Howard, who never married. They lived in Northern California, Butte, Plumas, & Tehama Counties.
