Details:
In looking for EDE spouses, I found George on the California Death Index,

Anderson, George Edward; born 03/25/1875 in California,
died Sacramento Co. 07/15/1946
Mother: Loring; Father: Morrell
He marriedIda Adele Ede, 1879 – 1913, and I’m doing the Edes. He piqued my interest because his father’s name was Morrell. I found him married to Ida in 1910, then worked backwards to 1880. Anderson is very common, but his birthplaces on the census entries are California, Maine, Maine, which is rarer.
This is probably George in 1880:
Norridgewock, Somerset, Maine
(Name, Relation, Marital Status, Gender, Race, Age, Birthplace, Occupation Father's Birthplace, Mother's Birthplace)
Daniel P. Field, Self, M, Male, W, 31, Me, Farmer, Me, Me
Hattie E. Field, Wife, M, Female, W, 31, Me, Keeping House, Me, Me
George E. Anderson, Boarder, S, Male, W, 6, Ca, Me, Me
There are not a lot of people who move from California to Maine. His name and birthplace match.
In 1910 the family is in Elko, Elko, Nevada:
George E Anderson, 35, head, Calif, Maine, Maine, superintendent of schools, county
Ida Anderson, 31, Calif, England, Wisc
Orvis E Anderson, 4, son, Nev, Calif, Calif
Robert Anderson, 2, son, Nev, Calif, Calif
Kathryn Anderson, 10/12, dau, Nev, Calif, Calif
George and Ida have been married for 5 years.
==========
I could not find him in 1900.
==========
In 1920 Ida has died, George has remarried and the family is in Hollister, San Benito, California:
George E Anderson, 44, head, Calif, Maine, Maine, School teacher grammar school
Lellie G Anderson, 45, Missouri, Ky, Tenn
Orvis E Anderson, 14, Nev, Calif, Missouri
Robert G Anderson, 12, Nev, Calif, Missouri
Kathryn A Anderson, 10, Nev, Calif, Missouri
Goldine E Anderson, 3 5/12, Calif, Calif, Missouri
The first three children have their step-mother's birthplace, not their mother's.
==========
This looks like "Lellie" from 1920 with her daughter, Goldine, especially since she is divorced and George is in Fresno with another wife in 1930.
1930, San Jose, Santa Clara, California
Golden Anderson, 56, Divorced, Missouri, Ky, Va, dressmaker
Goldie E Anderson, 13, Calif, Calif, Missouri
Note that Golden's last name matches, her age matches, her first two birthplaces match, daughter Golden's birth year and all three birth places match, and San Jose isn't very far from Hollister. Finally, the "G" in "Lellie G" from 1920 could be "Golden". Still, more research needed.
==========
In 1930 George is in Fresno, Fresno, California:
George E Anderson, 55, head, Calif, Maine, Maine, teacher public school
Alice S Anderson, 53, wife, Minn, Oh, NY, teacher public school
Violet Shepherd, 51, sister-in-law, single, Oh, NY
George was 28 at first marriage, Alice 35
Note again, since Anderson is so very common,
George used "George E" in all 4 census entries.
George is a teacher or educator in 1910, 1920 and 1930.
George's BP's are that rare combination of Calif, Maine, Maine in all four census entries.
George's age at first marriage, 28, matches his marriage to Ida Ede.
