I went to the website and found Mr. Figge. The blurb said:
"WET MOUNTAIN VALLEY SETTLERS as Frank Schick (1890 Westcliffe, CO) remembers (see http://www.geocities.com/gsdownr_2000/custer/settlers.txt)http://www.geocities.com/gsdownr_2000/custer/settlers.txt). He was part of the German Colony that came to Custer Co. from Chicago in March of 1870. I have no additional information about this family. Visit http://www.geocities.com/gsdownr_2000/custer1.htmlhttp://www.geocities.com/gsdownr_2000/custer1.html. " and lists you as the researcher.
This is not correct. The only Figge in Silver Cliff/Westcliffe was my grandfather, and he didn't come to the vally until about 1895, and Figge was the name of his adoptive parents who never came to the valley.
I gave the information on John Figge's adoptive father Frederick Figge, and that is on the website now, but the information I gave on John Figge and his wife's brother Johann Leonhard Schwab has not appeared yet.
John Figge had a store in the valley until his death in 1938.
