The Forrester name was originated in Flanders during the early 800's. Their are many coats of arms. My family was from James Forrester whom arrived in Georgia in 1740. He had 3 children one of whom is unknown.

I am not real sure of any relevance as to my relation to this family of Forresters. 3 generations of Forresters were from the Jacksonville, Florida area as well as Brunswick, Georgia. I have a book given to me quite some time ago of Georgia's First Family of Forresters. My husband's family years ago had the Honeygall Plantation in Brunswik, GA. They had many slaves.It was built with slave labor, and the money crops were rice and long staple cotton. In 1840 Grandpa Baillie had 8 slaves and although the census didn't list them in 1860, he must have had 3 to 4 times that many, judging from his personal property tax. Whether that is the link or not I"m not sure! I live here in Green Cove at Magnolia Point and am off tomorrow if you would like me to drop off copies of this book if you think it may help.

PS. My husband and I found the old plantation last month! The Forrester families are all white.
