I descend from WILLIAM W. HAMMOND(S)/HAMMONS who was b: Abt 1803/04 at Oglethorpe Co., GA. I'm attempting to find a link between him and two HAMMOND men on the 1800 Oglethorpe Co., GA Census. I know that he links to CHARLES HAMMOND/HAMMONS who was listed on that 1800 Census, Capt. Hardman's Dist., which was in the GLADE DIST., pg. 45.
ISAAC HAMMON(S) was listed in Capt. Lee's Dist, Oglethorpe Co., which was in the GROVE CREEK DIST., pg. 13. ISAAC HAMMOND is also found on the 1801 Oglethorpe Co., GA TAX LIST, Capt. Seymour Lee's Dist. pg. 8,line #14, Grove Creek, and again on line #23, listed as owning property adjacent to JAMES GILLISPIE.
I found an ENSIGN ISACC HAMMOND listed in Jasper Co., under GEORGIA MILITARY-MILITIA 1813 DRAFTED 3rd DIVISIONunder field and company officers assigned or appointed to command the MILITIA drafted for the service of the United States. I also found an ISAAC HAMMONS who married PATSY/PATSEY MCCLENDON on 26 Sep 1811 in Jasper Co. Is this the same ISAAC HAMMOND who was in Oglethorpe Co. in 1800 and 1801? Does anyone know who this ISAAC HAMMOND/HAMMONS is and if he connects in some way to CHARLES HAMMOND/HAMMONS? I would appreciate any information on ISAAC and CHARLES.
