We are trying to find out the date of death. Quinney had a son named Quinney also. We have other Baileys in our family tree but that is through the Washington/Aycock marriage whose daughter married a Bailey in Mississippi.
There was a James Powell who lived a few doors down from Quinney's daughter Nancy Powell and her husband Johnson Mathews in Houston Co GA. Curious if he was the Creek Indian Commissioner James Powell. Also have learned that Osceola's 1/2 brother was named William Powell-children of Scottish trader.
I know there was Indian blood from the Powell/Hicks marriage, but as far as I know, it was Cherokee from old Eastern Band through the wife Martha Patsy Hicks.
On my paternal side, my 3rd great George Washington b. 1821 has many YDNA test results that point to the McGhee surname. Across the river from Russell Co. AL was a tribe of Creek Indians in Muscogee Co. GA whose chief was named Lynn McGhee. Curious if there is a connection as well.
