Me too !!We now have a Ydna match to his wife Elizabeth MOODY's family of the Darlington Co., SC area (she was daugh. of Asa > John 1 MOODY and to Possibly son of an early James Moodie/Moody). I can only find online genealogies that have little or no solid resources cited for this Richard SMITH b.c1804 to 1806 in GA (where in GA??) who was reported as a son of Richard SMITH and Phebe SESSIONS also of GA.
I am trying to find links between the Darlington Co. and Marion Co., SC MOODY's because I an a few others believe there is a link but none has been found so far with any solid Proof. There are however links between the collateral lines into which these Moody's married which ~could~ be showing us a link.
If anyone here can help me with any possible knowledge of a Samuel SMITH whose daughter Elizabeth SMITH of Marion Co., SC married Thomas MOODY also of Marion Co., SC and they had several children including a sons named "Hugh" and "RICHARD" (which makes me wonder if there wasn't a connection between these lines), and to the Richard SMITH who married Elizabeth MOODY of Darlington Co., SC both born around c1804, he in GA and she in SC, I would be Most Greatful. Perhaps by now you have found more info about your Richard. Yours may not be the same one I am searching for but I noticed yours was b. around the same time, in the same state and married an Elizabeth, so I figured it might be the one I was searching for too, now almost 10 years later that your orig. posting. Anyone who might be able to help I would really appreciate it.
