Re: 1850 or 1860 statewide Look -Up Please
Thank You so very much for looking I really appreciate it!
I think I've done everything I can to trace him backwards.
I found William Henry LANE b.1858 on the 1900 census for Wayne Co,MO. Cowan Township/Hiram area. It shows him being married 9 yrs to Elzora PUGH b.1875 KY.
William and Elzora are my GGgrandparents. By the 1910 census
Elzora has died and he has remarried to a Rosa BARBER.
I found out where William and Rosa are buried but nothing for Elzora. Then someone sent me a copy of a micro film
of the news paper obit for William he died 1937 in Wayne Co,MO. The obit said he was from ILL. and in childhood his family moved from ILL. to MO. NEAR a place called Die???,
I found out that the town was in Scott Co,MO.
Then I ordered his death certificate and it said he was born 1858 in ILL. County unknown and said his father was
John LANE and mother Elizabeth PERRYJIM. ( I think that's speeled wrong) I can't find a marriage for him and Elzora
abt. 1891 and I can't seem to find him on any census in MO.
before 1900. I think he was about 33 in 1891 when he married Elzora. William and Elzora had two living children
by 1900 census William Washington LANE. He never had any children and he lived in St.Louis,MO. I even ordered his death certificate and my grandmother had given the info
and she didn't know anything to put on there. And the daughter they had named Minnie married age 15 in 1911 and moved to White Co,Ark. She died when my grandmother was only 2 yrs old. So no info was handed down.
Sorry, I went on and on I just can't believe I'm still stuck
at this brickwall. I'm thinking now maybe William went by the name Henry, my grandmother used to refer to him as Henry LANE and only when I found him in a place she only knew as Hiram,MO. did I find out his name was William Henry.
Guess I had to vent. hehe
Thanks Again for your kindness.
