Well Cousin Tom, shant get any thing to write that would interest you, trade horse swapping and so on is our best pastime but nothing to be made at that here for they are to many dead heads here for me to make anything. Tom I cant think of any to write that wont you to write and tell me the time in your country. So good by, J. M. Lee To Tom Lee then a picture signed by Fred Jim I am your house and your folks is a goodeal better, Lila (Lila or Lela) has mist her chill. Tell Bill that Maggie is at your house this evening and the rest of the folks at the table well will write as often you can. Sam (or S. M.) Lee NOTES: Tom is John Thomas Lee son of Joshua Bartlett Lee born in Illinois April 9, 1844 (Jackson County possibly)He is residing in Hamilton County on 1880 census then Coryell some of his children are born and Crews, Runnels County Texas were he lived out the remaining years. He served in the Civil war and I have a picture of him in uniform during that time also his wife Amanda M. Estes daughter of Blueford and Rebecca Estes. I wonder if our Thomas of Kentucky might also be a John Thomas????? so much to still look at. The Thomas Lees and Patsy Bartlett marriage is seen in Greene Co, KY and in Greene Co, Illinois maybe because they brought their records with them?? Also there is a Joshua Lee seen in giving contsent of marriage on some the Lee brides in Greene Co, Illinois.. Kentucky is where these connection will be found and most likeliest places is going to be with the Bartlett and Coonrod family records (possibly church records). Charles Lee of 1792 KY was a Doctor, his Charles B. Lee had a son also Charles and Joshua... have you seen these records, in Jackson Co, ILL...when these records get here I'll let you know what they say. But there is no doubt that we are looking at the same folks for records.
