Hi Tina,
Not related at all, just trying to help.
I don't know about the Penrod marriage; nothing appears in the Illinois marriage index for a Penrod marriage to a Washburn. However, this index is not complete for the state of Illinois.
I can see where confusion is entering in, as there is conflicting data on Abram:
On the 1910 of Pulaski County, Arkansas [where Abram is remarried to Mrs. Mary Bell] it shows Abram as being married for the second time. They have been married for 13 years and on the 1900, they have been married for 3 years. This is a conflict to the information given by Cheryl Maxwell on Ancestry.com.[http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=cgm&id=I29423&ti=4300]
She has a marriage for Abram to Sarah Ann Walker 20 June 1886 in White County, AR. Sarah Ann had previously been married to John Baldridge and had 4 children with him. The marriage of Sarah Walker Baldridge and Abram Washburn produced a daughter, Finnie Irene, who is with Abram and Mrs. Mary Bell Washburn in 1900, aged 12.
This would mean that Sarah J. Reedy Washburn is deceased 1880-1886, and that Abram is on at least his third marriage in 1910. Perhaps he was previously married to Sarah Penrod before his marriage to Sarah J. Reedy? He was ten years older than Sarah Reedy; plenty of time for a marriage.
Did you know that Abram was a Civil War Vet? He received a pension for his service to the Union from Missouri. His widow, Mary, and minor son Louis [b. 1899] also received pensions. Perhaps the Penrod marriage took place in Missouri during the Civil War years? You can get his file and all of the marriages should be shown and proven in the file. I'm sure you probably have all of this, but if I can be of further help, just let me know.
Barb
