Mathews, Thomasage 33b. PA
Nancy C. McKinley, age 26 and b. OH, on the 1860 is in her father's household. She had married this Thomas Mathews in March of 1860; he must have been a widower with child, William.
1870; cannot find Thomas J. McKinley
but his 10 year old daughter Eliza, is living with the Downey Foster family in McDonough County. Thomas may be working out somewhere and have been missed.

Possibly this girl does to, I was unable to find her to check her age and birthplace:
McKenley, Maryto John H. Bond
18 January 1862McDonough County, IL
There does appear to have been other McKinleys in McDonough County, possibly connect to Thomas, but not his child:
McKindley, Sarahto Royal B. Barber

Sarah McKindley Barber was born ca 1846 in Illinois, your Sarah was born ca 1837 in Ohio.
Wilson L. "McKennelly" [McKinley] served in the Civil War.
He enlisted in CO H 119 IL INFon 10-07-1862 and died in Memphis, TN on 7-20-1864. His residence was given as Bushnell, IL, which is in McDonough County. His father Thomas, claimed a pension for his sons services, which was filed from Illinois in 1888. I would try to get a copy of the pension file from the National Archives if you can. they can be a wonderful source of information. I can help you with information on how to order if you need that.
And, last but not least:

this is Eliza Dry and your Augusta's father! Why they have him as a boarder, I have no idea. Possibly he was paying them room and board from his pension check?
Did you know that President McKinley's family was also in Clermont County, Ohio? They came to Fulton County, IL. I wonder if there is a connection?
Hope this is helpful; I can see that you have searched long and hard for Augusta's family! Let me know if there is anything else I can get for you.
