YES!! Thanks so much! That is correct information. Now if we could just find some more...
I'm trying to track down info on Fred John (Hamilton?) Redden the son that it says was born March 1896. That is my grandfather: Fred John Redden born 6/30/1895 in Hannibal, Mo (WWI Veteran who died in 1963 in Veterans Hopital in TX. Buried in Joplin, MO I believe). My father was supposed to have been born in Springfield, MO Jan. 28, 1929 but a family member told me it was Bruner, MO.
Thomas H (possibly Hasford) Redden [my great-great grandfather] born July 1856 in Cass County, MO (one place says) - another says Illinois, Jasper County? maybe a different person. married to Mary Margaret Mead 9/11/1879 in Jasper County, MO. She was born March 1861 in Cass County, MO and buried in Joplin, MO. So...Do we take the Census records as correct for dates or the memory of family members? how about for places?
According to the family he had an Indian # tattooed on his arm and was full blood Cherokee and came off of a reservation in Picher, OK. She was either full or 1/2 Choctaw and also came off a reservation in Picher, OK. This info was given to me by my dad in 1995 just before he died of cancer. I have been trying to track down more info since then.
I'm trying the Missouri, Texas and Oklahoma forums. Then Virginia and West Virginia as well because my Uncle Charles who lives there says that there are a lot of Reddens there too.
Any ideas? (if you have trouble emailing me you can use firstname.lastname@example.org)
