I tried to find Rose under STUTRIME and various spellings, including soundexing the name, but found nothing. STUTRIME doesn't appear to be an actual name as nothing came up for that spelling. Someone must have misread handwritten notes during transcription of the IGI entry. Your best bet is to get John Kennington's death record and pray someone knew her maiden name when they gave the information for it. I would also order Rose's death certificate. I don't think there is a place on the certificates prior to 1916 for maiden name, but there might be.
I tried to follow John's children for you and found a few more "tidbits."
From the 1910 census, they had:
Stephenetta12 b. Mississippi
Lucy V.9b. Mississippi
Mary R.6b. Mississippi
Edith L.6/12 b. Mississippi
I got to wondering, where was John Jr.? Went back to the 1910 and found him several lines down. Apparently he had been omitted and added in later. Address was the same, 5715 Harper, Kennington, John A.3 b. IL f:MS m:IL
mother and father's birthplaces were reversed.
You mentioned that you had the 1910 and 1930, so I checked the 1900 and 1920 for you to see what else I could find:

I completely lost Stephanetta and cannot find a trace of her. She predeceased both her parents, as of 1945. She may have married, as she is not in the Illinois death index under Kennington. Or, she may have died in a state for which the death index is not online. I did find an Elizabeth Kennington, d. 1-26-1927 in Cook County, cert. #6002658. Stephanetta's middle initial was "E", according to the 1900 census. Perhaps she stopped using Stephanetta and used her middle name?
Lucy V. married Bert F. Dungan. She was born 12 May 1900 and died in September 1978. Her last residence, according to the Social Security Death Index [SSDI] was Glendale, Los Angeles, California, but she is not in the California Death Index. This indicates she died out of state, possibly on a vacation.

I did find an obit for Bert F. Dungan:
Chicago Tribune (IL)

Mary R.b. between January and April 1904, [using census data to construct her age]
married ? Orr, she was living at home in 1930. I did find an obit for a Harold D. Orr, whose wife was Mary R.:
Chicago Tribune (IL)
Harold D. Orr, beloved husband of Mary R., fond father of Harold D. Orr Jr. [Mike]; dear grandfather of three; loving brother of the late Edison Orr. Services 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bilger Funeral Home, 2035 E. 79th street, 1 block east of Jeffrey Blvd. Interment Mount Hope. Visitation at time of service only. SO 8-1610.

I called Mt. Hope Cemetery; they said Mary Orr is not buried with Harold Orr. I did find a possible candidate in the SSDI to be Mary R. Orr, but whether or not this Mary Orr was a Kennington, I can't say:
Orr, Mary R. b. 18 March 1904 d. 16 Dec 1987
last residence: Richton Park, Cook County, Illinois
You may already know this, but Social Security original applications may be ordered. They are full of information, as the applicant themself filled it out, with city, county and state of birth, mother's maiden name, etc. They are $27; and can be ordered through Ancestry.com.
Edythe L. Kennington:
b. ca October 1909, married William Chapman Chamberlain; he was born in Texas ca 1907 and they are with John and Nettie Kennington in 1930, Chicago. I could not find Edythe in the SSDI, nor the Illinois or Texas death indices, but someone put a tree at genealogy.com for William Chamberlain and stated that "Edith" Kennington Chamberlain died in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. Date unknown. The Texas death index begins in 1964, so she would have passed away before that if she died in Texas.
John A. Kennington:
Born ca 1907, living at home in 1930, but this could be him, albeit the age is off by a couple of years:
Chicago Tribune (IL)
John Kennington, 51, former Oak Park resident, died yesterday in Colorado Springs, Colo., where he had lived for two years. He formerly was a director of Hamler Industries, a chemicals distributing company. Surviving are his widow, Anna, and three daughters, Margaret, Carol, and Kathleen. Mass will be said tomorrow in Holy Trinity church in Colorado Springs.

And, this could be an early marriage for him:

Notice that John gives either Illinois or Pennsylvania on every census for his mother's birth. I would think he would have known if she was actually born in Germany. It's possible that Stephen Kennington married her in Pennsylvania and they came together to Illinois. His death certificate may give more information on her birthplace and maiden name.
I thought I would try to go to Oak Woods Cemetery on Saturday. It is quite far from my home, but we are going to Michigan on Saturday and will be passing by. If we don't get a snowstorm in the meanwhile, I'll stop in and see who I can locate from your Kennington family. Let me know what else you might need from here and I'll do my best!
