Mundeleine North Shore Station & Marshall Fields
I am writing my family's history. In the early 1950s we lived in Mundeline, Illinois north of Chicago. I would appreciate some help. Sometimes, My Mom would take my older brother and sister and me on the North Shore electric train down to Chicago. I thought there was a station off the basement entrance to Marshall Fields. Now, I'm wondering if that was true. Was there a train near Marshall Fields that we would have used?
I believe there was a small coffee shop, like a diner in the basement of Marshall Fields. Mom would always treat us to a Wendy's type of a Frosty ice cream. I wonder if anyone remembers it.
I would love to learn more about the train; the location of the train station near Marshal Fields and what I am calling a coffee shop.
I need help from someone lived in Chicago in the early 1950s. I hope someone can direct me to someone who can help me.
Thank you,
