Looking for my birth parents

First, thank you for reading this.This is all I know.

I was giving up for adoption at the age of 2 months in Cook County, Illinois.My mother (who I believe is ether Irma Foss or Irma Johnson) gave me up after her husband was killed in action during the war in 1945.I believe he did late April or early May 1945.I do not know his name, just know he was in the Army Corps and lost his life in Germany.My mother (I believe) went to work in a box shop after she gave me up.I do not know if she remarried, nor if I have a brother or sister.They were married about 1941 in Cook County Illinois.I have ordered my birth certificate once before only to see my birth parents names blacked out.But since I was born before closed adoption, I'm hoping to somehow by pass this.Does anyone know how?I am also looking for a Army Base around Cook County Illinois to see if maybe I can find him their by a date and a wifes name.Any help would be wonderful, as I am 70 years old with a 33 year old daughter and 4 wonderful grandkids that would love to know where my family came from.We don't want anything if that is what someone thinks, just a place of where our family came from and if possible, a relative would make it better.Please email the above email address as I am using a friends computer and she is really good at genealogy.
