WILSON, Curtis B. 1860's-1877
Looking for Fulton Co. Civil War students or descendants of Curtis B. Wilson and his first wife Fannie Collins, married in 1844 in Coles County, for information.Curtis appeared in Fulton County before 1860 with children:
Alice J., b 1849
Douglas, born 1859
Eliza, b 1853
Jane, b 1847
Mary, b 1845
Sarah, b 1847
Thomas, b 1849
and possibly two named John, dates of birth 1851 and 1860.
In 1862 they had Kate, and Curtis was enlisted in the Union Army, 72nd Reg Illinois Infantry, and possibly 119th Infantry.Fannie is believed to have died in the mid-1860s.Alice is known to have married a man named Caley and moved to Creighton, Nebraska.
In 1867, Curtis, born 1822, married Francina Walters in Lewistown, Fulton Co., and they lived in Cuba.Francina's parents may have also lived in Cuba at that time.In 1870, Kate is the only child of Curtis and his first wife still living at home.He and Francina had two daughters (1868 and 1871), and Francina is believed to have died in 1875.Curtis died in 1877. I'm descended from Curtis and Francina and have info on their line to share.Would be grateful for cemetery records, newspaper notices, local Civil War records, or descendants for information.
