Andrew Jackson Brown Family in 1870
For years, we've been trying to figure out the destiny of Andrew Jackson Brown and his wife, Minerva Herron Brown.
A family member has told us that Andrew was known as "Jack".Jack was born 25 Nov 1837, in Indiana, the son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Spears Brown, but the family soon moved to Fulton Co Illinois.
Jack and Minerva were married in 1865 in Fulton Co Illinois and appear in the 1870 federal census of Fulton County. Is it strange that the family of a farm laborer would have a servant/housekeeper?Does anyone know if there might be a connection between the Brown or Herron family and this Ellen Foot?We found a marriage between a William Foot and an Ellen Fry in 1865 in Fulton County, but can't confirm if this is the same person. If her husband died within the past year or so, she might have been taken into the protection of the household
After 1870, we can't find a trace of any of them. We would appreciate any help.Does anyone know if there was any sort of epidemic in the 1870s that might have taken them?
