Samuel C. Bell, seventy-seven, of Macon died at his home Wednesday morning at 1 o'clock after an illness of eight months. His death was due to Bright's disease. He has spent his life in and around Macon. He was born Jan. 23, 1851, near Oakley, ILL. His parents were Josiah and Mary Bell. He was married to Ella Thornell of near Elwin Oct. 2, 1879. To this union, five children were born. Gertrude died at the age of three. His wife and the following children survive; Mrs. s. A. Patterson of Macon, Mrs. Grover Hudelson of Decatur, Floyd at home, and Julius near Macon. There are three grandchildren, Ethel Patterson and Homer and Thord Hudelson. He was a person of unusual activity for a man of seventy-seven years. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 3:30 at the Methodist church in Macon.

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Bell received the news a few days ago of the marriage of their son Floyd Bell, to a young woman in South Dakota. The marriage took place in that state about two weeks ago, and was a surprise to his relatives.

1920 and 1930 census - Floyd is living with his parent(s). 1920 census lists Floyd as divorced.
According to the SSDI, Floyd died Sept. 1982 in Macon, IL.
