Re: County or State Census after 1940
Harold, I would call the Peoria Public library to see if they have an obit on Claude, 309-497-2155. You have a good date for his death. Morgan County may not have it as he was buried there but died in Tazwell County. They might email it to you, altho most of the time they prefer it as a written request. They might check to see if it was printed in the Peoria Journal Star, if not ; try the Pekin Public Library. When you post requests on these message boards, most people are writing to them as they are out of staters and can't get you these obits. I have terrible luck on them myself, and I was a volunteer for RAOGK ,which is down for quite sometime.I think you will find this obit faster this way, altho thru Pekin library, it may cost you more. If the Pekin Library doesn't have it, try googling the Tazwell County Historical Society or genealogical society. I remember seeing on one of those sites that they will look up old obits for you for a fee. If you need any further help, write me.I guess as a last resort, you could call the Morgan County Public Library. There aren't any volunteer organizations right now that can help you get obits for free.
