A BERLIN -- Walter A. Kerrick Jr., 87, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at Catered Living in Ocean Pines.
Born in Pekin, Ill., he was the son of the late Walter A. Kerrick Sr. and Leona Bach Kerrick.
Mr. Kerrick was a U.S. Navy veteran. He had worked as a technical engineer with WTOP in Washington. He was a Mason and a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. In his early days, he enjoyed playing the clarinet and saxophone.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Kerrick; four sons, James Kerrick and his wife, Gloria, William Kerrick and his wife, Karen, Robert Kerrick and his wife, Sue, and John Kerrick and his wife, Diane; one daughter, Susan Suchan and her husband, Gregory; a sister, Lois Thies; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Amy, Bucky, Sarah, Christine, Jessica and Matthew; and one great-granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Community Church of Ocean Pines. The Rev. Robert Harris will officiate. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6- 8 p.m. at Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin. Interment will follow the service in Sunset Memorial Park in Berlin.
