Wish we did have records. I have been having a terrible time myself until this week. I have one suggestion though, if you have not already checked. There is an alternative record for the lost 1890 census. Joliet had a city directory. Not everyone is listed, however, I know some of the Quarry workers are listed either by their name or with the Wenberg listing. It covers the years 1884-1892, I believe. I don't recall through which site I found it, but if it isn't this one, then try Ancestry.com, Rootsweb, etc. I know I found it through one of the better sites.

If any of your family was in Will Co. IL before 1878, I have a totally indexed History. I would be glad to do a look-up for you. At worse, it might only have them listed, if they owned property.
