Benson CARD Family in Williamson in 1850 & 1860
I've been told that the Benson Card Family appears in the 1850 & 1860 IL.census in both Williamson & Jefferson Counties. Are they one & the same man or two different men named Benson Card? My 4th great-grandmother was Mary Card. She was born in St.Mary's Co.,MD. on 10 Dec.1764.I think that Benson Card was her brother. I found a Benson Card in the 1790 census of Wake Co.,NC. I'm guessing this Benson Card in IL. would be a son or grandson. I'm trying to find out who Mary Card's parents & siblings were.
Mary Card married George Windham of Prince Georges Co.,MD. on 11 Dec.1783 in St.Mary's Co.,MD.Their youngest son was named Benson Card Windham. He was born Nov.1804 in Loudoun Co.,VA. He died Oct.1805 in Loudoun Co.,VA. The family then moved to Belmont Co.,OH. My 3rd great-grandmother,Meriah Windham, married William Bowie on 30 June 1820 in Belmont Co.,OH.They had a son named Benson Card Bowie. He served in the Civil War from OH.So I'm guessing there is a tie between the families.
Thank you for any help you can give me.
Sincerely,
Pam Drake
