St. George Lutheran and Reformed Church
The congregation known today as St. George Lutheran Church, south of Mt. Auburn was at one time a joint Lutheran and German Reformed (Presbyterian) church. Reference; 'A History of Edinburgh, Indiana, 1820-1986".
2 sons of my 3rd ggf Heck were listed as in attendance at a meeting in 1849 to elect trustees. The Heck family had been German Reformed for several generations. My question is what happened to the Reformed group? Heck infants are buried at St. George in 1860 but by the time my 2nd ggf died in 1861, he, and later his siblings are buried at Roberts Chapel Methodist Church, southeast of St. George on the Shelby-Bartholomew County line. Do any records of the Reformed part of St. George still exist?
