Felix Walker Porter & Alexander M. Porter NC-KY & IN 1800s

Felix Walker PORTER, was born about 1815 in KY. His parents are believed to be Alexander M. PORTER and Elizabeth CHITTIM, md January 1795, Rutherford Co. NC.Felix Walker PORTER was executor of Alexander's will in July 1840.

1837 Voters in Spencer Co. were Walker, Wesley and James L. Porter - i.e., Felix Walker PORTER, John Wesley PORTER and James L PORTER. Were they brothers or cousins?

Felix Walker PORTER was first married to Nancy McKIM, January 28, 1836. It appears, using the census and marriage records, that Felix and Nancy had four children - Fidella, Robert L., Felix A., and Mary E. Porter, all born Spencer County, Indiana.

Nancy may have died in child birth in 1843 and Felix next married (Mary) Margett DUGAN, Mar 28,1844, in Spencer County. Their first child appears to be Stephen L. PORTER, born about 1844, followed by Isaac M., Josephine, and George E., all born Spencer County, Indiana.

Felix apparently died before March 1857, because in that month, (Mary) Margett (Dugan) PORTER married Howell ANDERSON on March 5, 1857. They were married by T. B. Phillips, a Justice of the Peace, in Spencer County.

(Mary) Margett (Dugan) PORTER ANDERSON had at least two more children after marrying George Howell Anderson. They were: Thomas Anderson, born about 1858, and Willard Anderson, born about 1862, as shown on the 1870 Perry County, Indiana census.
