Have you contacted the Spencer County Clerk, http://spencercounty.in.gov/http://spencercounty.in.gov/ and ask if they have copies of the 1834 marriage records? Are the parents names on their marriage license/certificate?

Have you read the newspaper article(s) about his murder and the subsequent trial? Maybe his parents attended and their names might be mentioned in the newspaper. You can contact your local library and request they order the newspaper microfilm via inter-library transfer.
