From my point of view the census records pretty much prove Louis was indeed the father of Leon (Lee). To find out more about Louis look at the 1850 Censusunder Rudolph LEVEYDORF.I see the spelling as Zweydorf, but Heritage quest has it as this odd spelling. For 1860 look under Rudolph ZWEIRDORF. Best of all, for the grand screwup try 1870 where Louis is listed as CWEYDORF.No, I am not kidding. Of interest, I have also found that ZWEIDORF comes from the root name of ZEITLIN.I found this on one of those coat of arms sites and they list BRUNSWICK as where the name TVEIT (a form of ZEITLIN) is associated with tribal conflicts. As a coincidence, the 1860 census for Rudolph lists BRUNSWICK as his native land. Although my husband is not related, his step grandfather was Thomas Zweydorff, who married Rhoda Harrod Gatewood. They had no children together. However, blood means nothing when someone means so much so I want to add his side to my husband's tree. Happy hunting!
