Thank you for clarifying the possiblility of the difference in the name MILLS to MILES between father and son. As you say, spelling was not the priority at that time frame.
I was just curious if the two counties were in or near one another, Mason and Jefferson.
Samuel MILLS and Mary MILLER of Jefferson Co. KY are listed on rootsweb.com as well. A David MILLS has had a DNA test performed, and apparently it matches to my family MILLS of Dayton, Montgomery Co. Ohio on 12 markers. Thus making our category #600 now has 6 kits listed that match.
Was possibly thinking that the John MILLS - Rebecca ORME might be related in some way to Samuel and Mary.
But you did not address that question.
I have been doing research on my family since 1984, January 1985 in earnest. So am aware of the census forms and what they list for information on those interviewed.
Since my family was mostly in Ohio, that is where I concentrated my efforts. Now with New Jersey involved, and Ontario, Canada, makes it a lot more of a mystery to be solved.
How to tie the 6 of us together into one MILLS tree as we seem to converge in New Jersey.
Do any of your MILLS MILES family members tie into any of those listed on the MILLS DNA Project list on www.familytreedna.com under MILLS?
search: MILLS
click:MILLS
click link on page
go to bottom of page
click : DNA Results
You might see that one of your families may tie into those listed there.
As you say, Good luck in your future research (above and beyond regular paper work).
