Re: James Millican Revolutionary Soldier from Va.
NO Relation... just trying to do a lookup for you...
And I'm having a bit of trouble. You posted he " came from Ireland abot 1730", settled in VA (you mention no location just some neighbor's surnames), and mention that you found him in Barren Co, KY in 1783.
You also mention him to be a Rev. Soldier.
And in trying to do a lookup for you, the more I search the more I find your info to be very vague.
Who was his wife?If he was born prior to 1730 (you say he came to the US at that time), then he would have been quite an older man to serve in the Rev. War.What info do you have on his service???
I do find a James Millican who served in the Rev. War, and he's showing up on pension lists for Warren Co. KY (which is next to Barren Co).One item shows he served as a private in a North Carolina line and this roll of pensioners, placed on pension roll April 12 1833 then age 74.
I also find this name on some info pertaining to Augusta Co. VA:
Feb 24 1770 a Patrick & Esther Davis sold land to a James Millican, 44 acres, by patent dated 10 Sept 1767, on Cowpasture River.
Aug 19 1767 Archd Clendennings estate settlement shows a James Millican (along with others) received payment.
