Can anyone give me any kind of proof what so ever that Sarah Pike born 1783 in Kentucky and married William Inks in Adair County Kentucky was NOT the daughter of Thomas & Sarah Pike of Green County Kentucky. I know that I and others have stated that she was the daughter of Lewis and Martha Patsey Burdin/Burden Pike.
I have always questioned this parentage because of information found in Guy Orby Inks' notes about the credibility of the researcher that provided the parental information on Sarah Pike to Guy Orby Inks.
I have since come to the conclusion that Sarah was the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Pike of Kentucky for the following reasons.PLEASE...hear me out. Lewis and Patsey Pike never lived in Green County Kentucky, they lived in Casewell County North Carolina.
In 1800 Thomas Pike lived in Green County Kentucky near where my 3rd Gr Grandfather William INKS lived and that is who Sarah Pike married. I know that I haven't found "Sarah" listed in this Thomas Pike's will but could Sarah have been her first name and her middle name have been something else and she went by her middle name. Or vice-versa????
I can find no other Pike that would likely be parents for her in Green County Kentucky and I find it highly unlikely that Sarah would have been born in North Carolina and lived there all of her life and then went to Kentucky and got married.I thought that maybe Thomas was an Uncle and she was visiting Kentucky and met Grandpa William but I just don't think that is likely either.
Any ideas where in Kentucky I should look for more information on Thomas of Green County.
Thanks for anyone who might venture to help me with this one.:)
