Re: Vital Records Fee increased again
I wasn't aware of the second increase either until late last night, when I was preparing to send out for a death certif. for my great uncle. I thought that itwas a mistake at the top of the form when I saw the cost of $28 instead of $22.(As if $22 isn't costly enough!) Then found the link that had the information about the increase. So, I just shredded the form and said heck with that!Yes,I agreee it is a way for the state of Ma. to get more money with out calling it a "TAX" as you have said. That is why my parents had never returned to live in Massachusetts, because the Taxes are so darn high!
Yes, there are a few states that are raising their prices for vital records, but not such a steep increase as $21 more in just two years time.
Here is the link with the notice if you would like to see it.
Have a great day, and Good luck with your researching!
