Hi Laurie:
I have found that the spelling of names and the ages given on census records and on many death records are often incorrect.
I have never contacted the personnel at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Springfield, but I understand that they are very accommodating. I don’t know how their records are filed, by year and then by name or alphabetical. If alphabetical, do you suppose they could have the surname, Nolan, spelled incorrectly? Is Mary also buried in St. Michael’s?
Do you have a copy of Patrick’s death certificate? The place of burial is often notated on the certificate.
On the information that I provided, Wd indicated that Patrick was widowed.
I have a paid subscription to NEHGS.. http://www.newenglandancestors.org/http://www.newenglandancestors.org/
However, the Massachusetts Archives has an online index to Vital Records 1841-1910 and it is a free site.If you find a record in the index, you can order a copy of the record for $3.00.Instructions for ordering are on the site.

I feel your pain re: not knowing where in Ireland your people were from.My NY people were from County Kerry however, I do not know re: my West Springfield people.I strongly suspect County Cork but I have nothing to substantiate it.Every document simply states….Ireland…
