Re: Baker Johnson, Frederick MD
MARY:Thanks for responding.I am missing who was Mary Selome born abt 1748 or 1749, wife of Elias Lefever born 1743. Also the claim that "Uncle Major Baltzell raised
Jacob Lefevre (born 1785) untill he married". That was 1805.A Charles Baltzell and a Christian Lefever served together in the American Revolution, Maryland Line German Batalion as officers under Thomas Johnson,Esq. Thomas lived near Elias Lefever.
Elias above died "intestate" 1803 and his heirs selected Samuel Duvall to evaluate their land property called"Resurvey of Bennetts Resolution". It sold to Baker Johnson in 1806. Ten to 20 years earlier Baker Johnson bought another half of Bennetts (or Bonnetts) Resolution from David Lefever (who married Zeller & moved to Washington Co. MD.)
I am not aware of any marriage or other connection prior to 1806. However, I understand that Baker had Rogers in his line and in 1815 in Ohio Catherine, granddaughter of Elias above married Richard Rogers.
The property Baker bougth from Elias and David Lefever is where he built his estate and home titled "Auburn" which I understands still exists.
It might have been that our property was a stones throw from the Cactoctin Furnace owned by Johnsons, and this made for a larger intact property.
To help me in trying to figure out consorts & connectios; it would help me if I had the names and birthdates of Baker Johnsons's siblings - who they married & his parent's names. Seems there is plenty on Thomas Johnson, but little about Baker's genealogy. Thanks
