C,
I quite understand.This confused me.
My Grandfather was Cornelius J who was married to Delia Kinnane. This is what is so confusing. He is coming back from Ireland one month after the daughter, Dorothy was born in Boston. I have no idea how long he had spent in Ireland, before bringing his Mother Honora Donovan, and half sisters, Nora and Nellie Donovan to Worcester. Thisis why I think Dorothy was definitely adopted.
The marriages in Worcester were:Cornelius J Sullivan to Delia Kinnane, May 26, 1898
Bartholomew J Sullivan to Catherine Marshall, February 10, 1903.
John J Sullivan to Nellie Ryan, November 1, 1904
Patrick J Sullivan to Nellie Sullivan, (Her Father Timothy and Mother, Hannah Leary) April 30, 1907
Honorah E Donovan to Michael Riley, June 18, 1912.
The oldest Sullivan sibling was Mary E Sullivan married Patrick J Boyle, in Philadelphia October 30, 1895.
I don't have the marriage application for Helen (Nellie) Donovan married Edward Haley in the 1920's.
Bartholomew C Sullivan was related to the Sullivans. (First or second cousin. The children of Ellen Carey and Cornelius Sullivan, came from Lomanagh as well.
I can find no marriage record for my Great-Uncle Daniel J, Sullivan who was born 1876, Ireland, and died 1943.The only records I have for him are the death certificate and the 1910 census. The only Church records that I have are the two that you gave me the Parishes' identification. The info above comes from the marriage applications from Worcester.
I hope this doesn't prove more confusing.
Betty
