Mitchel/Mitchell - Indian families- Brunswick area c1800
I am searching for the Parents of my Hannah MITCHELL who was part Passamaquoddy/Micmac Indian and probably a bit of Penobscot thrown in for good measure too, who lived in Brunswick, Cumberland Co., ME at least by Dec. 1818 when she was married to my 4th grt. grandfather Capt. Joseph MOODY. (spelled MoodEy in their marriage record but everywhere else his name was spelled Moody...census, cemetery records etc.).
Hannah Mitchell's parents I have not been able to find as yet.I have searched for Mitchell's in the Brunswick area but have found none with daughters named Hannah (or other names for Hannah being used as the nickname so to speak), that were born c1794 when my Hannah was supposedly born.
The Brunswick Marriage record did not give their ages at marriage only the date of their filed intention and the date they received their marriage certificate. Also a dear cousin found their marriage announcement in the old Portland newspaper the Eastern Argus from April of 1819, but again no ages were given.
If anyone has access to or knows of any Mitchel / Mitchell families living in and around the Brunswick area PRE-1800 who had a daughter named Rachel, JoHanna, Hannah or any other name that the the possible nickname for Hannah might be substituted, Please let me know.I don't think her first name was anything other than Hannah, but I can't locate a Hannah Mitchell born c1794 anywhere in Maine from the resources I have or have access to, that is why I'm posting this message here in hopes that someone else will have better access to Maine records then I do and can look her up for me.
By the 1850 Brunswick census, Hannah's age was listed as 56 b. Maine.By 1860 I cannot find her husband Joseph MOODY listed Anywhere!Joseph was a good bit older than she was so he might have died by 1860.Their son Daniel Moody and his wife Sabra Freeman were living in Brunswick in the 1860 census, but after that, I cannot find either of them.I don't know if Daniel died by 1870 or what.
It might be that Hannah was born in Washington Co., Maine on or near the area of the Passamaquoddy Indian reserves, or even around the Old Town area of Penobscot Co., ME where the Penobscot Indians are.I have no idea. She might have been born in Canada for all I know.
Thank you for any help at all.
