Hi Jan,
You have been extremely helpful. Thanks so much
I have been in contact with nimrodkiss, she turned out to be a distant cousin of mine. She is the one who posted it, and she does have a page from a bibe, somewhere. It was shown as Bay Co, on there. She is trying to find it for me.
After the civil war Samuel came first to Saginaw in 1866. The following spring he purchased land 5 miles west of the village of Harrisville. According to his obituary he married in 1868.So by then he would have been 5 miles from Harrisville. He and Eleanor (Ellen) had 7 children, 2 died at a young age.
Samuel himself died in 1879 and there was quite a large write up in the Review newspaper dated Feb 21, 1879 that I found in the Alcona online database. It said services were held from the M.E. church in Harrisville.
I think I will contact the United Methodist church and see if they have something.
Thanks again!!!!
Karen
