Lyman Washington Leach (1843-1916) and his wife Ellen Achsah Abbott (1846-1914) arrived in Clare County in 1881.They previously had lived in Eaton County, Michigan.Some of their children, who resided in Clare County, were:Winnifred A. Leach (1865-1920) married James M. Thompson (1859-1932); George Samuel Leach (1866-) married Adella Thompson (1867-); Alice Marilda Leach (1868-1921) married David Kirkpatrick (1862-1947); Carrie Eliza Leach (1872-1952) married Edward Clark Van Conant (1869-1949); and Howard Richard Leach (1880-1924) married Maude Pratt
