Immigration Records in Lapeer County?

Were Immigration Records kept in Lapeer County around 1855? I am searching for any information on the surnames:BOWERMAN and CUDDEFORD.I know Elizabeth Bowerman married Charles Cuddeford in Lapeer County in 1863.I believe my great-grandfather, Hubert Wallace (Cuddeford or Bowerman) may have been born there in 1859. Any direction you can point me would be much appreciated.Thank you,
