Sister Kroha, O.P. Obit
ADRIAN — Sister Miriam Catherine Kroha, formerly known as Jean Marie Kroha, died on Dec. 28, 2007, at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Mich. She was 88 years of age and in the 67th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.
Sister was born in Detroit, Mich., and her adoptive parents were Ferdinand and Katherine (Galvin) Kroha. Sister graduated from St. Ambrose High School in Detroit, Mich., and received a Bachelor of Philosophy Degree in History from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian, Mich.; a Master of Education Degree from the University of Detroit in Detroit, Mich., and a Master of Religious Studies Degree in Moral Theology from Providence College in Providence, R.I.
Sister Miriam Catherine spent 54 years ministering in education in Detroit, Saginaw, Utica and Harper Woods, Mich.; and Chicago and Elgin, Ill. She was the Coordinator of Adult Religious Education in St. Kieran Parish in Utica for 21 years. Sister became a resident of the Dominican Life Center in Adrian in 2007.
Sister is survived by loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 6:15 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, in the Gathering Space of St. Catherine Chapel at the Dominican Life Center, followed by Vigil Prayer at 7 p.m. in St. Catherine Chapel. The Funeral Liturgy will be offered in St. Catherine Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008. Burial will be in the Congregation cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
