Joyce Jean (Bly) Brueckner Obit
CLINTON — Joyce Jean Brueckner, 76, of Clinton went to be with the Lord, Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, at Herrick Medical Center.
She was born on Feb. 14, 1931, the daughter of Cecil and Louella (Jedele) Bly. In 1954 she married Emery Patton and he preceeded her in death in 1955. She married Robert Brueckner on May 26, 1956. He preceeded her in death on June 22, 1996.
Joyce worked at the Saline Evangelical Home for more than 16 years, retiring in 1990. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her friends and family, all of whom referred to her as “Aunt Jo.” She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Joyce is survived by one daughter, Amy Dault of Clinton; one sister, Delores Clinton of Chelsea; two grandchildren, Macy and Dustin Dault; and several nieces and nephews, including those who cared for her, Earl (Joyce) Cook of Clinton and Doug (Melanie) Cook of Hudson. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bob Bly.
Funeral services for Joyce will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at the Clinton United Methodist Church with Pastor Faye McKinstry officiating. Interment will follow in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes.
