Sister (Dennis Joseph) Andrezik, O.P. Obit
ADRIAN — Sister Margaret Andrezik, formerly known as Sister Dennis Joseph Andrezik, died on March 1, 2008, at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Mich. She was 74 years of age and in the 53rd year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.
Sister was born in Detroit, Mich., to Joseph and Marie (Huddas) Andrezik. She graduated from St. Anthony High School in Detroit, Mich., and received a Bachelor of Philosophy Degree in History and a Master of Teaching Degree in Education from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian, Mich., and a Doctor of Law Degree from Detroit College of Law in Detroit, Mich..
Sister Margaret spent 18 years ministering in education in Elmwood Park, Ill., and Harper Woods, Detroit and New Baltimore, Mich. She was Director of Placement in Central Services in Adrian for three years and Executive Director of the Portfolio Advisory Board for three years. Sister was a Law Clerk at Lakeshore Legal Services for six months and Supervising Attorney for nine years. At Legal Assistance St. Clair County she was a Supervising Attorney for five years. Sister became a resident of the Dominican Life Center in Adrian in 2008.
Sister is survived by two sisters, Barbara Kaiser of Clinton Township and Madeleine Gild of Sterling Heights, both in Michigan, and two brothers, James Andrezik of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Joseph Andrezik of Oklahoma City, Okla. She is survived by an aunt, Sister Clare Genevieve Huddas, also an Adrian Dominican Sister.
Visitation is from 6:15 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in the Gathering Space of St. Catherine Chapel at the Dominican Life Center, followed by Vigil Prayer at 7 p.m. in St. Catherine Chapel. The Funeral Liturgy will be offered in St. Catherine Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008. Burial will be in the Congregation cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
