Finding a birth in Ann Arbor in 1879?

I am searching for Washtenaw County resources which might allow me to substantiate the place of birth of Jennie Annie HODGSON, daughter of William HODGSON and Elizabeth (Emma) BATES.Their daughter Jennie Annie has been reported to have been born in both Toronto, Canada and Ann Arbor, MI on 12 Aug 1879.We have been unable to locate her birth in Ontario records and would therefore like to see if we can find her birth or her family in MI records during the time of her birth. Since her parents were Canadian citizens, it is possible that they were only in Washtenaw County for a short time when the birth occurred.
