Re: Alexander Shause/Strause, wife Jeanette Benham

So glad to hear from you. There are a lot of spelling mistakes in this record but is the right couple - Jeannette Benham married Alexander Strause. Her parents Archie Benham and Annie Kelly, not Pike.
I have a feeling that Alexander, who registered as a musician is the same person as the taxi driver that she is supposed to have married. Maybe he did that to supplement his income as a musician. I have yet to find Jeannette after this marriage except that I have sent for a SSN application for a Jeanne
Strause which I am thinking might be her, in which case she didn't remarry. The application will reveal if it is her. I was guessing as Jeanne's birthday was April 25, 1899 and Jeanette's birth record which I have is April 23, 1899. Close enough to make me think it is her.
