CANAVAN,Land Patents 1834, 35, 37 - did family live here?

Hello,I have found the Land Patents listed in "Subject" above. In the WashtenawCo Genweb page showing Land Patents, there was an "S" following each of the CANAVAN Patents - what does that mean, please?

I would like to find out whether the family lived on any of these patents.I know of the whereabouts of wife Naomi (Scramling) SANFORD (Monroe County, NY) before her marriage as widow, to John CANAVAN, which included her two young children b. 1812 & 1814.I assume they came also, so I hope to learn more about them as they grew older.
